Zodiac Aerospace Sourcing Specialist in MONTREAL, Canada


The Sourcing Specialist (SG) is responsible for sourcing within a Zodiac Cabin Branch Business Unit (BU). The SG is involved in all phases of sourcing requiring the skills necessary to identify cost savings opportunities from program inception through its maturity. The SG will deploy sourcing strategies defined by the Branch Strategic Commodity Managers (CM) and will support the CM on sourcing related activities as required and upon request. The SG shall prepare and send out RFP/RFQ, negotiate main terms and conditions, prepare the information package to support supplier selection. The SG must understand the relevant contracts and act as a liaison between BU specific suppliers and internal program’s sales, management, engineering, etc. In the performance of his/her duties, the SG shall utilize the tools, methods and processes deployed by the Branch Strategic Purchasing (SP) as well as assure adherence to and compliance with the applicable Zodiac Standards. The SG reports to the BU Purchasing/Procurement Organization.

  • Implement/Execute Purchasing Strategies and actions defined by the Branch Commodity Managers.

  • Source and negotiate materials, equipment and services to meet Programs target pricing or to bring profitability to the BU.

  • Interacts with the Supplier Development Specialist (SD) and the Supplier Quality Specialist (SQ) to establish the Quality, Cost, Delivery ratings before any business award decision.

  • Manage BU sourcing projects to completion (until FAI, qualification, etc) using Zodiac Standards and Guidelines.

  • Identify ways to reduce costs and install competition between suppliers ethically.

  • Proposes to CMs new cost reduction related initiatives that could potentially benefit the BU and/or the Branch.

  • Regularly reports to CMs on his best practices (purchasing process or results) for intra Branch benchmarks

  • Ensure new awards are placed under contract using the Branch Strategic Purchasing Contracts Organization.

  • Ensure contracted items are loaded in the ERP System

  • Deploy and report progress on supply base rationalization.

  • Manage work transfers from supplier to supplier or supplier to BU in accordance with Zodiac Standards.

  • Ensure supplier adherence to commercial related contractual terms and conditions. Escalates to CM in case of regular or critical deviations.

  • Promote standardization of products.

  • Support CMs with innovation initiatives.

  • Execute Risk Mitigation actions deployed by the CMs as related to the BU.

  • Manage BU supplier creation workflow and provide the proper documentation for: ZA-Q-1030, Risk Analysis, NDA, etc.


  • Education: BS degree in Engineering, Materials or Business (preferred) or equivalent education or experience.

  • Experience: 5 Years experience in Supply Chain or Materials Management.

  • Languages: Ability to communicate in French and English

  • Competencies:

  • Negotiation skills and business oriented.

  • Organized and adaptable to priority changes.

  • Ability to manage projects with multi-functional team, identify and recommend resources, identify potential issues/risks, etc.

  • Ability to read and understand drawings, technical specifications, technical reports, etc…

  • Good understanding of ERP systems principles.

  • Notions of contract provisions and ability to produce accurate and reliable reports and data

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project
