Job Description

Safran Helicopter Engines USA Inc. (SHE USA) is seeking an Import Specialist to administer SHE USA's import compliance program. These activities include matters relating to U.S. Trade Regulations, such as, but not limited to, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Regulations, the Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide regulatory guidance to internal customers;

• Manage daily import activities including interaction with customs brokers;

• Classify products for import, including Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes and Country of Origin;

• Interface with internal functions (i.e., Program Management, Supply Chain) to ensure all work processes are in compliance with U.S. trade regulations;

• Draft and update import procedures, instructions, forms, and templates;

• Provide import compliance trainings to internal customers;

• Conduct investigations into potential compliance issues;

• Conduct audits and risk assessments;

• Collaborate with compliance team on various projects, conferences, audits, assessments, reports, etc.;

• Provide guidance and assistance on a broad range of import compliance matters, including:

o Documentation,

o Recordkeeping,

o Classification,

o Origin determination,

o Customs Valuation,

o Post Summary Corrections,

o Partner Government Agencies,

o Screening / KYC,

o Incoterms

• Will perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred and 4 or more years of relevant experience and practical knowledge in US import compliance required;

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum;

• License Customs Broker, Preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and similar software applications.

• Knowledge of the FTR and CBP regulations. Knowledge of export regulations (i.e. ITAR, EAR) a plus

• Specifically, experience with:

o Tariff Classification

o Country of Origin Determination

o Custom's Valuation

o Broker Management

o Post Summary Corrections

o Automated Commercial Environment
