Zodiac Aerospace Quality Systems Engineer in ASTON (AST), United States

General Responsibilities/Purposes:

Responsible for the Quality Assurance (QA) Engineering aspects of Zodiac Arresting Systems America including the responsibility for the technical oversight and evaluation of products, parts, Operational and Quality processes specific to Quality.

Perform on-site audits regarding compliance with ZA standards, civil and military aviation regulation and international standards and customer requirements. Provide feedback on BU compliance to requirements and processes performance. Follow corrective actions plans defined and propose areas for improvements.

Manage the writing and update of the quality management system description for the processes & standards in their scope, train people in charge of their implementation and evaluate the compliance level in the BU. Organize process performance reviews in liaison with the relevant process owners. Support and follow actions from QMS audits by certification bodies, authorities or customers.

Certification in line with 9100 series & organizations approvals (according regulations), customer quality requirements, management of global surveillance of the BL and production Sites (internal & external, incl. interfaces between activities) Integration of ZA-Standards into legal entities QMS and BL organization.

Develop, implement and lead specific Quality and Continuous Improvement programs such as:

Ensure quality system adheres to appropriate Maintain and update quality manual, procedures, work instructions, and forms. Identify, implement, and communicate improvements

Manage document control related activities by / facilitate review, revision, and release of both local and corporate standards.

Develop a culture of quality improvement through education and communication with all levels of stakeholders within the organization.

Identify / provide quality related training to educate team members on quality controls and systems. Be the focal point for quality related activities for ZASA and coordinate/ assist in business score card activities and reporting.

AUDITS AND STANDARDS

Administer and assist in the deployment of the corporate business operating system and policies. All internal standards, Zodiac Standards and processes to assure conformance to customer requirements, corporate requirements and regulations.

Monitor and advise on the performance of the business operating system processes through internal audits & layered Process Audit

Manage / facilitate all corrective action related activities & all audit related activities including scheduling, planning, preparation, and communications

Co-ordinate internal & external compliance audits for the global business processes, report results and assure the completion of the corrective action process

Lead / facilitate Internal audit team meetings

• -Manage ZASA audit schedule

• -Assume role and responsibilities of Lead Auditor

• -Ensure all audit reports and findings are adequately documented and communicated

• -Manage / facilitate all corrective action related activities

• -Provide coaching and training as required to business process owners to further understanding and working to a process oriented approach

Assist QA director in the liaising with 3rd party auditor to assure that relevant external accreditations are in place and maintained while working towards a single certification cost structure where possible.

Co-ordinate internal & external compliance audits for the corporate business processes

Liaise with business process owners throughout the organization to ensure the system is functioning correctly and advise on continual improvement to reflect best business practice and dynamic needs of the business report results and assure the completion of the corrective action process

Assist Quality director in the preparation of Quality Management Review activities and effectively communicate all quality related updates / changes

I.Education or Basic Knowledge Required

Bachelor of Science in Quality Engineering and/or related technical/science fields. Must have specialized training in Quality Assurance and Control system procedures and techniques. Must have experience with metalworking, fabrications, and assembly techniques. Well versed in ISO 9000 and/or equivalent quality standards (e.g. AS9100) Must be familiar with PC-based programs such as Microsoft Office.

II.Experience Required

7 to 10years experience in Quality Assurance and Process Improvement/Control, with emphasis on Quality management Systems programs including calibration systems and analysis , receiving inspection, in-process quality auditing and the development of QA standard work and process evaluation.

III.Complexity of Duties

Wide variety of duties involving working knowledge of Company policies and procedures. Duties include working independently towards resolution of problems and completion of programs, devising new methods, adopting standard procedures to meet new conditions and making decisions based on established standards and Company policy.

IV.Responsibility for Errors

Errors may be serious, involving loss of production, reduced quality level, waste of material, contractual delays, or damage to equipment. Effect usually confined within the Company. Most of work not subject to verification or check.

V.Responsibility for Relationships With Others

Regular contacts with other departments, customers (including military staff of U.S. and representatives of foreign governments), and suppliers. Furnishing or obtaining information and obtaining agreements with the above parties requires tact to avoid friction. Outside contacts require a high degree of judgment and the ability to deal with and influence individuals in varying positions without creating a negative ESOC image.

VI.Type of Supervision

Provides training of Quality Assurance personnel and technical direction/mentoring of same. Oversees the activities of Quality and directs other department personnel in the completion of specific Company Quality Assurance programs.

VII.Extent of Supervision

Directs several persons (Quality Assurance/Control, Engineering, Manufacturing, etc.) in the completion of major Quality and Continuous Improvement programs.
